Following Donald Trump’s 2024 election win, a significant number of his political opponents have expressed interest in leaving the country. A survey conducted by StorageUnits.com among 1,837 voters for Kamala Harris revealed that 54% are considering relocation. Of these, 5% stated they definitely will move, and another 5% are likely to. The remaining 44% expressed a desire to relocate but are unlikely to due to financial, family, or social reasons.

Most — 90% — would prefer to leave the country entirely, with Canada (41%), the United Kingdom (19%), and Mexico (16%) being the top choices. However, 80% also considered relocating within the U.S., particularly to California, New York, and Colorado. This sentiment reflects the discontent among many citizens with the current political landscape.

Respondents cited “erosion of women’s rights,” “increased racial inequality,” and the “rollback of progressive rights” as their primary motivations for wanting to leave. Gen Z voters were the most likely to be considering a move, with some left-leaning women protesting Trump’s victory by symbolically shaving their heads as a stand against “the patriarchy.”
