In a sweeping crackdown under the operation “Нелегал-2024”, Russia’s authorities have announced plans to deport 20,000 foreigners. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs spokesperson, Irina Volk, over 106,000 violations of migration laws have been identified, leading to these deportations. During this initiative, more than 4,000 criminal cases were initiated against illegal immigration operations, highlighting the scale of violations. This annual operation, conducted in collaboration with national security organizations from allied countries, targets organized crime involved in illegal migration, showcasing Russia’s commitment to tighten border control and migration policies.
