Today, Italy and the United Nations signed an agreement to modernize and bolster the infrastructure of the UN logistics center in Brindisi. Established 30 years ago, this center will now serve as an even more powerful asset for crisis response and humanitarian support across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. According to Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, supporting this project is a vital step in enhancing Brindisi’s international role.

In addition to the center’s enhancements, the project includes investments in the local European School, aimed at improving access to quality education through the hiring of English-speaking and highly qualified staff. Italy’s ambassador to the UN, Maurizio Massari, emphasized that the modernization will enable the center to respond more swiftly and accurately to humanitarian challenges, including through initiatives like “Food for Gaza.”
